1) Why sweep your chimney
Regular sweeping is vital to remove blockages and soot. This prevents chimney fires and allows deadly combustion gases to be safely vented through the chimney. Clean chimneys burn more efficiently which will save you money.
2) How often should my chimney be swept?
3) How long does it take to sweep a chimney?
It usually takes around 40 mins however this depends on the size and length of the chimney and how dirty it is.
4) Does it make a mess?
No we don’t, we will put down sheets to protect your carpets and seal the front of the fireplace and use a powerful industrial vacuum which is running as we sweep to stop soot escaping into the room. However if a chimney is blocked with a birds nest it is difficult to guarantee that no mess with be made.
5) What do I need to do before you sweep?
I will need a clear area in front of the fire place to work. The hearth should be clear and the grate clear of rubbish. The fire/stove will need to be cold to sweep.
6) When is the best time to get my chimney swept?
You should try and book a sweep for Spring/Summer as we get busy in the Autumn and Winter.
